Rein in ICE now

To: Rep. Larsen

From: A constituent in Clinton, WA

February 12

I am writing to express deep concern about the current appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), particularly as they pertain to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Border Patrol. Recent incidents involving the deaths of Alex Pretti, Renee Good, and others have highlighted a troubling pattern of violence, impunity, and misconduct within federal immigration enforcement. These events underscore the urgent need for comprehensive reforms that safeguard our communities from unnecessary harm. I respectfully ask you to only support a revised DHS appropriations bill with that contains the following provisions: 1. Zero Increment for ICE and Border Patrol – Ensure no additional funding is allocated to these agencies. 2. Removal from Local Jurisdictions – Direct ICE and Border Patrol units to cease operations in Minneapolis and other affected communities. 3. Protection of Sensitive Sites – Prohibit enforcement activities at places such as churches, day‑care centers, and hospitals. 4. Non‑Discriminatory Enforcement – Bar ICE and Border Patrol from targeting individuals based on race, language, accent, employment status, or location during apprehension. 5. Elimination of Warrantless Home Entries – End the practice of entering private residences without warrants or judicial oversight. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I look forward to seeing decisive action that protects our communities.
