Trump’s tariffs are illegal! Uphold this ruling!

I write to insist that the Supreme Court uphold the unanimous ruling by the three-judge panel of the Court of International Trade, which found President Donald J. Trump’s global tariffs illegal and unconstitutional.
The panel—appointed by presidents Reagan, Trump, and Biden alike—made clear that President Trump exceeded his authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA):
“We do not read IEEPA to delegate an unbounded tariff authority to the President.”
Tariffs and foreign trade regulation belong solely to Congress under Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution. By imposing sweeping tariffs under a false claim of a “national emergency,” President Trump blatantly ignored the constitutional separation of powers.
This case is not a legal gray area. It is a clear-cut example of executive overreach that threatens the balance of power fundamental to our democracy.
I urge the Supreme Court to affirm the three-judge panel’s decision in full. Upholding this ruling will send an unambiguous message that no president can unilaterally rewrite trade laws or claim emergency powers beyond what Congress permits.
Failure to uphold this ruling would erode constitutional limits and encourage future abuses of power. It is your duty as the nation’s highest court to protect the Constitution and ensure that the executive branch remains bound by the law.
Please uphold the 3-judge panel’s judgment and defend the rule of law.
