How I long for the day where I don't need to email or call my Senators because we finally have a presidential administration that doesn't want to harm, kill, and terrorize our people and destroy our country. How I long for that day.... But in the meantime, what I've learned in the last year is that the American people refuse to obey in advance. We refuse to back down and allow the Trump administration to destroy our country. I can't say the same for the Republican legislators. You all backed down and obeyed in advance on day one. You all abandoned us, your constituents. You all abandoned your oaths to the Constitution. On day one, you all obeyed in advance. But not us voters. We have called, emailed, written, gone to your offices, begged for town halls where we could make our voices heard, protested, marched, and boycotted. We have stood up to ICE, despite their violence. We voted blue in the elections since Trump was sworn in, even in red districts. We will not obey in advance. That's what authoritarians in the making want us to do. That's how they gain power. We won't do that. We, the people, will save our country. And that includes people who voted for Trump in 2024. They learned. It's a shame the Republicans in Congress won't learn. It's a shame you all obeyed in advance.
