Reject Vought nomination, protect congressional funding authority
To: Rep. Knott, Sen. Tillis, Sen. Budd

Trump's recent unconstitutional freeze on federal funds is an alarming power grab that undermines our democracy. Even though the initial memo was rescinded, it's clear Trump remains committed to withholding congressionally allocated resources. His nominee for OMB Director, Russell Vought, enabled this very abuse during Trump's first term and has refused to testify that he would place the Constitution above Trump's demands. Vought's confirmation would allow Trump to staff the government with loyalists and defund agencies at will, causing devastating harm to millions of Americans. I urge you to call for Vought's nomination to be withdrawn immediately. If his confirmation proceeds, you must vote NO to uphold the constitutional separation of powers and funding authority of Congress. Enabling Trump's unconstitutional agenda would be a dereliction of your duty to defend our democracy.
