The proposed executive order is a harmful attack on the rights and wellbeing of transgender youth. Gender-affirming care for minors, including puberty blockers and hormone therapy, is based on robust scientific evidence and endorsed by every major medical association as safe, effective, and potentially life-saving treatment. Banning this vital care would endanger the mental health and lives of these vulnerable young people who already face disproportionate rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide risk when unable to access appropriate medical support. Furthermore, legally stripping parents of custody for supporting their trans kids is a gross overreach of government power into family life. Rather than pursuing this discriminatory agenda, the administration should listen to medical experts and protect the established rights of transgender individuals to receive evidence-based care. All people, regardless of gender identity, deserve access to affirmative healthcare free from political interference. I urge you to reject this misguided and harmful executive order.
