As your constituent and a proud Iowan, I’m writing to express strong opposition to the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” currently under consideration in Congress.
While it’s been marketed with bold language and sweeping promises, the reality is that this bill is out of step with the values, needs, and priorities of hardworking Iowans. It favors political theater over practical progress and leaves rural communities, working families, and public institutions behind.
This bill threatens critical federal support for public education, infrastructure, and healthcare — all of which are lifelines for small towns and rural areas across our state. Rolling back environmental protections would also harm Iowa’s farmers and natural resources at a time when sustainability is not a luxury, but a necessity.
What Iowans need are smart, bipartisan solutions that actually solve problems — not branding exercises or bills that prioritize power plays over people. We deserve legislation that reflects our values: common sense, fairness, and investment in the future.
I urge you to reject the Big Beautiful Bill and instead champion policies that put Iowans — not ideology — first.
Thank you for your service and your attention to this critical issue.
