Rep Edwards, I urge you to resist the defunding of public broadcasting. During Helene, we were glued to our radios listening to Blue Ridge Public Radio for the only news we can get. Many of your constituents live in poor, rural communities that do not have municipal warning systems and alternative free broadcasting. For our safety, we need you to fight for what is right. A $300,000 cut would decimate our small public broadcasting station & it is not right. We the people should have our tax dollars going to fund free info broadcasts, not to pay for ego parades. The accusations against PBS & NPR are ridiculous and infringing on our 1st Amendment rights is exactly the opposite of what we want from our government. Do not be complicit in the harm of your people. Demand the funding of free public broadcasting remain in place.
