An Open Letter

To: Rep. Bradley, Gov. Polis, Sen. Carson

From: A constituent in Englewood, CO

April 23

This letter is in regards to HB25-1291. As a ride share patron, I support increasing safety for riders and accountability for ride share platforms. In reading the bill summary, I am pleased but the additions to the current text. I was disappointed by the deletion to the text that prohibits driver shifts exceeding 10 hours. I have taken a number of rides here in Colorado with drivers who have admitted they had been driving shifts longer than half a day, sometimes driving for different ride share platforms to hide the lengthy hours they drive. Limiting driver road time for ride share drivers should be returned to the bill as that will provide immediate benefits to safety on Colorado's roads. Overall, I support HB25-1291.
