I am writing today to encourage you to be brave and outspoken with your colleagues about your objection to selling public lands. It is not enough to be quietly opposed on this issue. You must stand up to senators from more populous states, who do not understand our love for the outdoors. Who do not know the importance of public lands to our economy. Who do not understand that public lands rise to the level of a legacy we want to pass on to our children and grandchildren. I also want to be clear that you need to be brave and outspoken for public lands in other states too. It is not acceptable to work to remove land sales in Montana from “the bill.” I implore you to be boisterous in your support of all public lands across our great nation.
