Safeguard America's public lands for future generations

The American public's federal lands represent an invaluable asset that must be protected rather than sold off for short-term revenue. These lands provide vital resources like food, water, and energy that underpin our nation's long-term security and prosperity. They also offer unparalleled opportunities for outdoor recreation that support local economies and America's hunting and angling traditions. Rather than viewing federal lands solely through the prism of potential revenue generation, we should recognize their multifaceted value for conservation, recreation, and sustainable resource management. Indiscriminate selling or trading away of these public lands would deprive current and future generations of irreplaceable natural treasures. I urge you to safeguard America's federal public lands and reject any proposals for large-scale disposal or transfer of these lands to states or private entities. We must take a balanced, far-sighted approach that preserves public access and ecological integrity while allowing responsible resource development where appropriate. The long-term economic, environmental, and cultural costs of liquidating our public land heritage vastly outweigh any potential short-term gains.
