Oppose H.Res. 1579 to Support Trans Rights
To: Rep. Crow
From: A verified voter in Littleton, CO
November 26
I am writing to urge you to oppose H Res 1579, a harmful and exclusionary resolution introduced by Representative Nancy Mace. This resolution, a blatant attack on transgender people, was introduced in direct response to the historic election of Sarah McBride, the first openly transgender woman to Congress. It is deeply troubling that Representative Mace would choose to celebrate this moment of progress with a resolution that seeks to undermine the rights and dignity of transgender individuals.
Legislation like H Res 1579 does nothing to improve the lives of everyday Americans. Instead, it perpetuates discrimination, alienates members of our communities, and diverts attention and resources from the issues that truly matter—such as economic equity, healthcare access, and education.
Our communities and country progress when we embrace all people and direct our efforts toward inclusion. Social, economic, and political strength arise from recognizing our shared humanity and building bridges across differences—not from legislating exclusion. Transgender individuals, like all people, deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.
I urge you to reject this harmful resolution and stand on the side of equality, justice, and unity. As a representative of all your constituents, your leadership can help steer our country away from discrimination and toward a more inclusive and equitable future.
Please oppose H Res 1579 and commit to policies that celebrate and protect the diversity that strengthens our nation.
