There are very few things that your brother, the late Senator Graham did that I could support, but his unwavering support for Ukraine was one thing I could see eye to eye with him on. The fact that President Trump is bashing our ally Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelensky, while making it sound like he is responsible for the current war that Putin started is unacceptable. Even worse is Trump's enthusiasm to praise Putin and remove sanctions on Russian oil. This will make no meaningful difference in the price of diesel in the US or world markets, but it will pump hundreds or millions of dollars into Russia's war efforts against Ukraine. This not only makes our ally Ukraine more vulnerable, but it also makes NATO more vulnerable to Russian aggression. This is a weak attempt by Trump to change the narrative on soaring gas prices in the US ahead of the mid-term elections. The hike in prices are not, in fact, due to the war with Russia and Ukraine, but due to Trump's own choice to start a war with Iran. Trump was advised of the very real chance that the Straight of Hormuz would close if he started a war, but he ignored seasoned opinions of military leaders and political advisors and instead listened to a drunken, washed up Fox News personality (Pete Hegseth). This was after he tore up an extremely successful JCPOA because he couldn't stand that President Obama had achieved something of such great importance. In fact Trump seems more concerned with lighting a match to Obama's legacy than to governing the American with strength and integrity. Trump let his ego and hate of Obama lead him to make the reckless decision to declare war with Iran (illegally) and the Republican dominated Congress stood by and watched without any pushback. Trump's desperation to once again ally himself with Putin in an attempt to cover for his ineptitude makes him look weak and stupid. Take a stand for Democracy and your late brother's legacy and tell Trump enough is enough! Fight to Immediately strike down the agreement to lift sanctions on Russian oil!
