 You showed at the beginning of the pandemic that you cared more about Ohioans than about politics, and you were brave to start the lockdown when you did . I'm asking you to remember your courage and to stand up for all Americans now. The current administration's actions are a direct assault on our democratic institutions and present an existential threat to the republic. We cannot treat this as a routine transition of power between parties. The rampant lies, blatant disregard for the rule of law, and efforts to consolidate authoritarian control constitute a clear break from our constitutional order. As an elected representative, your sworn duty is to defend democracy and uphold the will of the people you serve. Failing to forcefully confront the regime's anti-democratic impulses is to be complicit in the dismantling of our freedoms. Stand firm against the onslaught of disinformation and reject any attempts to undermine the foundations of our system of government. The future of our nation depends on leaders who will courageously resist this accelerating slide towards oligarchic tyranny. The American people are looking to you to be a bulwark against this existential threat to liberty. Upholding your oath demands resolute action to preserve and protect our imperiled republic. Remember the morals and ethics I know you understand, and speak out against the illegal and immoral actions being enacted on the American people today. You swore an oath to protect us, now lean in and do it. Please.
