Reject biased Judge Cannon for Attorney General role
To: Sen. Huffman, Rep. Plummer
From: A verified voter in Dayton, OH
October 24
Respected representatives, I am writing to express deep concerns over reports that Judge Aileen Cannon is being considered as a potential candidate for attorney general in a prospective administration. Judge Cannon's recent ruling to dismiss the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump raises serious questions about her impartiality and judgment. Her decision appeared to rely heavily on a separate opinion from Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, rather than engaging substantively with the facts and evidence presented. This undermines public trust in the fair administration of justice. As public servants, we have a duty to uphold the rule of law and ensure our judicial system operates independently and without undue political influence. Appointing Judge Cannon to lead the Department of Justice would send the wrong message and further erode faith in our institutions. I urge you to reject her candidacy and instead seek out highly qualified individuals with proven integrity and a commitment to equal justice under the law. Our democracy depends on an attorney general who will faithfully execute the duties of that office without fear or favor. Thank you for your consideration of this important matter.
