INDEPENDENT VOTER First it was DOGE. Trump and Elon promised to cut $2 trillion dollars. They failed. Trump promised a manufacturing boom. Reality is we have lost over 75,000 jobs in manufacturing. Next promise was the Big Beautiful Bill. A reduction in taxes for the one percent would result in economic growth. The old trickle down theory. This has also failed to spark economic growth. Tariffs were the next gimmick rolled out by Trump claiming we would gain trillions. The approach was especially hard on small businesses. The reality was a steady rise in costs for all Americans and a Supreme Court ruling which requires us to pay back the tariffs with interest!!! Next, the “no more wars” President went on a string of military campaigns spending billions and increasing the cost of oil. Prices continue to rise and Trump refuses to acknowledge the affordability issues as the cost of living continues to rise. All of this has resulted in a dramatic increase in our national debt. How much? WE HAVE REACHED A DEPT LEVEL THAT IS NOW EWUSL TO OUR GDP! THIS LEVEL HAS BOT BEEN ACHIEVED SINCE WWII! This can only be categorized as a total economic failure and is far more of an issue than just the spending request for Trump’s wars. The country has also watched Trump spend billions on a series of vanity projects with this economy as a backdrop. To make matters worse, many have been no bid projects or projects without the traditional reviews or approvals making them the sole ownership of Trump. Some have also dramatically failed and all have been considerable over their stated budget. At times Trump has lied about how these projects are even being funded. Add all this up and what you have is a real e phonic mess. It is no wonder why Americans feel real economic stress.
