Response to 1/20/26 Webster Wire
To: Rep. Webster
From: A verified voter in Orlando, FL
January 21
I am writing in response to your 1/20/26 Webster Wire. This seemed like a briefer one than normal, and you completely avoided mentioning any of the big issues that are currently going on: unlawful delays in the DOJ’s compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, President Trump’s declaring of himself to be the “acting president” of Venezuela after he unconstitutionally took military action without Congress’s approval, ICE/CBP’s violence and violations of civil rights, and escalating tensions across the world as President Trump threatens our country’s alliances in a tantrum that he has admitted is because he did not get the Nobel Peace Prize that he wanted. Where is your character? When will you stand up for what’s right instead of continuing to align yourself with and cover up for a President who is putting *himself* first; he has completely failed to put Americans first.
I truly cannot decide what your end game is here. Are you hoping that things will go back to a pre-Trump GOP once his current and Constitutionally-final second term ends? Are you afraid of being dragged in the media by President Trump if you stand against him? Do you suspect you would lose the next election if you don’t parrot President Trump’s talking points and thus lose the power you’ve consolidated for yourself?
Please do what is right. Please uphold your oath to the Constitution.
