Transparency and the Department of Revenue Fiscal Impact Report

To: Gov. Morrisey

From: A verified voter in Dunbar, WV

December 30

I am writing to you today as a concerned resident of West Virginia to request clarity regarding the "Big Beautiful Bill" and its projected effects on our State. While there has been significant public discussion surrounding the goals of this legislation, essential data remains unavailable to the taxpayers who will be most affected by it. It is my understanding that the Department of Revenue has prepared a formal report detailing how this bill will impact West Virginia’s economy, state revenue, and public services. However, this report has not yet been released to the public. Transparency in government is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Without access to the Department of Revenue’s findings, West Virginians are unable to move forward with a full understanding of the State’s fiscal health. Does your office plan to release this report to the public in the near future? I respectfully ask for a specific timeline regarding when these facts will be made available so that our citizens can see the data for themselves. I look forward to your prompt response and to seeing a commitment to transparency in our state government.
