Congressman Smith, your office represents one of largest contingencies of older, elderly Americans. You are fully aware the impact will have upon families, in your district alone, should congress proceed to make cuts to Medicare programs and/or ‘eliminate’ (speaker Johnson’s exact words) Medicaid recipients from funding. How many families has your office interceded on behalf of and/or facilitated to assist those desperate for care in obtaining Medicaid/Medicare services?Chris Smith you have forty years of public service in your role as Congressman for NJCD04 and you know the stories, the tragedies and the experiences of these families and their physical, economic and emotional sufferings to seek aid. And what exactly does Speaker Johnson mean when he says ‘eliminate people’? What is ‘the plan’ to do with ‘people elimination’? This isn’t meals on wheels which thanks to you and your vote have been ‘eliminated’ this is people’s lives. The very same lives that went through a rigorous vetting process to get medical care and assistance.
Sir, your legacy of service is being maligned and tarnished. In your support to these cruel and harsh punishments to the average American household is creating a lasting stain upon you and your party. Security st the border is not the threat to American it’s your party’s policies to rip away any last shred of hope in America. For God’s sake, you stood for the sanctity of life yet to be born and now your willing to cast certain suffering and death to your must vulnerable constituents? Where’s your dignity? Is this all worth it?
Next time you send me your Congressional newsletter be sure to send some facts along with your justification to ‘eliminate’ these life saving programs. I will be watching and waiting to hear from you.
