Sign HB 1921 Into Law
To: Gov. Youngkin
From: A constituent in Hampton, VA
March 10, 2025
The Virginia General Assembly has passed a bill that would mandate five days of paid sick leave per year for all employees. I would like to let you know that I strongly support you signing this bill into law. Forcing people to go to work sick spreads disease. Many people who don't have sick leave are public-facing employees: customer service, food service, and so on. These people are put in an impossible position when they are ill, but they cannot afford to take unpaid time off. Imagine how many dozens of people go through a fast food restaurant in a given day. If the line cook is ill, they run the risk of spreading their illness to every single one of them, through the food they are handling.
Sign the bill. Do what is right for Virginians. Stand up for us, the people at the bottom who have never received any paid time off in our lives. Give us the bare minimum of five paid days of sick leave per year.
