Deter a Russian aggression. When I wasn’t flying combat missions over Southeast Asia, I spent a good part of my younger life on nuclear alert, waiting to fly a one-way mission in the event of a Russian nuclear attack. Mutual assured destruction worked for a very long time. Eventually, the Soviet Union collapsed under its own weight. Today the Russians are no less dangerous, but thanks to Trump’s insane foreign policy we are a great deal weaker. Cozying up to Putin, giving the store away in the vain hopes that he might do something nice is morally repugnant and a recipe for capitulation. No Russian diesel. Restore all the sanctions in the Lindsey Graham bill.
