I'm writing to you today because I remain extremely concerned and outraged by the Administration's efforts, with the support of Elon Musk and his group of 19 to 24 year olds, to dismantle the civil service, fire federal workers without cause, and purge anyone who isn't a MAGA loyalist. A report by the Washington Post outlined the DOGE team's 6-month-plan to fire any federal employee with ties to DEI work or within DEI-related offices. Musk is now even sending emails demanding workers respond with their accomplishments from the previous week or risk being fired. This is a massive overreach and should spur ongoing action, organization, communication, and litigation. This is blatantly corrupt, illegal, unconstitutional, and sets a dangerous precedent, and I ask that you continue demanding an end to this unlawful purge of the federal workforce. I also ask that you work closely with your Democratic colleagues to launch investigations into these practices and the involvement of Elon Musk, and flood the zone with relevant legislation, communications across platforms, and engagement with advocacy organizations, state partners, federal employees and others to pursue meaningful and substantive legal action.
