Hello, I am writing to you because I love this state and I love this country. I love the people who live here and I love my community. However, I do not feel safe. I do not feel that my kids are safe. ICE is operating within our communities with no regard for the law or respect for human lives. My family has been in America, as citizens, for generations-over a I have darker skin. century-and yet I’m afraid to encounter ICE because my daughter and I’m afraid of being taken from my vehicle and disappeared and I’m m ost terrified that my children may be targeted-especially at school or any time they’re not with me. This doesn’t feel like America.
