Investigate Trump’s EO "Ending Crime and Disorder on America's Streets"

To: Sen. Rosen, Rep. Lee, Sen. Cortez Masto

From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV

July 31

Please investigate the legality and ethics of Trump’s Executive Order titled "Ending Crime and Disorder on America's Streets.” Trump signed an executive order on July 24 titled "Ending Crime and Disorder on America's Streets." It is my understanding that the order encourages states to INVOLUNTARILY move homeless, addicts, and mentally ill people from the streets and place them into treatment programs. It appears that the language is so vague in the EO that it could apply to anyone experiencing a crisis with or without a permanent residential address at any given moment. I'm concerned that this EO may either accidentally or unscrupulously confine and criminalize citizens who do not own or rent a permanent residence. I'm also concerned with the involuntary forced institutionalization of those determined to be mentally ill. Please investigate the legality and ethics of Trump’s Executive Order titled "Ending Crime and Disorder on America's Streets.” Thank you.
