Residents of north St. Louis need your help! An EF3 tornado destroyed homes and businesses on May 16 and the residents of north St. Louis need food, water, shelter, and electricity. I was volunteering there yesterday with Action St. Louis. It looks like a war zone. We had to stop and clear fallen trees from the road just to get to where we were going. We cleared about three blocks of Cora avenue in about three hours using only hand tools. We distributed water and nonperishable foods as we went along. But the neighborhood is utterly destroyed. It is block after block after block of people just trying to survive. More people will die without your help. They need professional help from the government, not just scrappy volunteers. Your constituents are suffering. Please send food and water. Please send professionals to restore electric power. Please send professionals to rebuild homes. Show us all the good that government can do when we focus on helping those in need.
