An Open Letter
To: Rep. Miller
From: A verified voter in Cleveland, OH
April 2
Recently, members of the House filed a letter signed by 127 representatives in support of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. I noticed that your signature was missing. Is there a reason that you do not value the mission of public libraries or the very important services they offer? As someone who lives in Brooklyn, where we recently had the grand opening of our brand new branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, scores of people showed up to see our new facility and all the ways it would enhance our lives. From dedicated private study rooms, the functional children's area, and even the technology lab where machines such as 3D printers and multi-thread embroidery machine could be used by the public, it is a marvel. However, funding to ensure that it is able to stay open for us is vital, and I am extremely disappointed that you do not share my views about the importance of ensuring the funding for our community libraries. Shame on you.
