Moreover, banning public funding for programs including drag performances constitutes unacceptable censorship and infringement on artistic expression. Drag is a celebrated art form with a rich cultural history, providing social critique, commentary, and entertainment. Prohibiting its public funding unduly restricts free speech and impedes cultural exchange. While opinions may differ on performance appropriateness, a blanket prohibition funded by taxpayer dollars severely overreaches, failing to account for nuance.
