Rep. Johnny Olszewski recently confronted Secretary of State Marco Rubio about allegations of financial corruption and insider stock trading under the Trump administration. He cited specific instances where the President's personal stock trades and policy announcements suspiciously coincided, allowing Trump to significantly grow his wealth while in office. Here are a few examples he cited - *NVIDIA Transactions - Olszewski highlighted that Trump purchased up to $1 million in NVIDIA stock a week before the Commerce Department approved chip sales to China, and an additional $5 million before a major deal with Meta. *Energy Stock Trading - He pointed to the President extending deadlines during the Iran conflict and then subsequently buying shares in companies like ExxonMobil and Chevron when the energy stocks dropped. *Self-Enrichment Claims - Olszewski noted the President's net worth has grown by over $4 billion during his term due to self-enrichment tied directly to his foreign policy agenda. What I expect Congress to do - Support Olszewski's proposed amendments to spending bills that would require presidents to put assets into a blind trust, barr presidents from owning individual stocks while in office, and end blanket IRS immunity for the President and his family. Trump is defiling the very principles of our Democracy, and showing he cares nothing for the rule of law. He is unfit for his office. Vote to impeachment Trump. Pass and enforce laws preventing this from ever happening again. Trump has only been able to do this because the Republican dominated Congress has allowed it.
