VOTE NO ON HR 9495

To: Sen. Sinema, Rep. Ciscomani, Sen. Kelly

From: A constituent in Tucson, AZ

November 19

As your constituent, and believer in free speech, I urge you to vote no on HR 9495. We cannot let fear-driven legislation dismantle the foundations of free expression in this country. This bill is incredibly dangerous and would endorse an unconscionable amount of authority in the Secretary of Treasury to silence protestors and serve as a death sentence to the non-profit organizations that fight for the rights of Americans. HR 9495 endangers free speech and civil liberties by giving the government a weapon to suppress nonprofits for ideological or political reasons. A yes vote on HR 9495 would be another step in the direction of authoritarianism, where the only voices allowed to be heard are those of Trump loyalists. We cannot let this happen.
