An Open Letter
To: Rep. Evans
From: A verified voter in Thornton, CO
October 8
You served as an Army officer and a law enforcement officer. You took the same oath I did — to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That oath doesn’t expire, and it doesn’t bend for political convenience.
Right now, people in Trump’s orbit are openly discussing illegal actions that threaten that Constitution. Tina Peters — a convicted election offender who was invited to the White House — is pushing a plan to seize ballots nationwide and prepare for civil conflict if the midterms don’t go Trump’s way. Her attorney even said civil war under martial law would be “better” so their side could control the weapons. At the same time, Trump has used taxpayer money for personal propaganda, pressured officials to hide his voter records, and publicly claimed he “can do whatever I want” to political opponents.
You know this is illegal.
You know this is dangerous.
And you know exactly what this leads to.
So I’m asking you directly:
Which side are you on?
Are you the officer standing the line at the Capitol, protecting Congress and the Constitution?
Or are you with the people waving U.S. flags and Trump 2020 banners while they beat cops and try to overturn an election?
There is no middle ground. Your background means you understand the stakes. Your oath means you have a responsibility to act. Your silence would be a choice.
Colorado deserves to know where you stand.
