Renee Nicole Good could've been your wife, your neighbor, your aunt, your friend. What happened to Ms. Good proves that no one is safe in our country with Trump's ICE and immigration policies. Ms. Good was not a domestic terrorist. She was not an agitator. She was simply a woman, a mother, a partner, driving in her neighborhood. Perhaps she was watching ICE. Perhaps she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Neither matter. What matters are the lies and defacing of her character by Trump, Noem, and Vance (among others). What matters is she was unjustly and senselessly murdered. Ms. Good did not deserve to die. Let's keep it clear: IF she was an agitator or a domestic terrorist (and again, she wasn't), the proper thing for ICE to have done is to shoot at the tires of her car. But they didn't. She was shot point blank, 3 times, in broad daylight. ICE denied Ms. Good medical care on the scene. They simply walked away, some smiling and laughing. And ICE is back at it today in Minnesota and other cities, terrorizing and shooting at our citizens. Senators, we don't need an investigation to show what happened. The proof is right in front of us. Trump can't force us to believe his lies and gaslighting. We saw what happened in broad daylight. But if an investigation happens, it must be bipartisan. Because the entire world is watching, and we already know Trump's propensity to place loyalists in positions to decide investigations. We know how Trump and his sidekicks twist reality and try to get in front of a situation with their immediate lies and gaslighting. We know that Trump's tactic is to say something so many times that he believes we will make his alternate reality our reality. That will no longer work. Because now we know that none of us are safe. We are living in a fascist country now. And no one is safe under a fascist rule. Not your family. Not your loved ones. Not your friends. Not your neighbors. Senators, please don't drop to the level of Trump, Noem, Vance, and the rest of Trump's sycophants who are trying to make us believe what DIDN'T happen. Ms. Good was a human being. What happened to her can happen to anyone. And that is not how any of us want to live in our country.
