President Trump has announced a blockade of Venezuela. This is an act of war. It is so clearly an act of war that, when Presdient Kennedy needed to interdict missiles en route to Cuba he called it a "quarantine."
War is the exclusive providence of the Congress. The president does not and should not have the power to commit this country to war. It is your responsibility to preserve and protect the Constitution and that includes its separation of powers.
You must restrain the President. You must insist that only Congress can declare war.
The American people do not want another foreign war. They don't believe Venezuela is a threat to the United States. They are worried about groceries and healthcare.
And they will remember what your priorities were in November.
