Pass SB 2818 to Rein in Excessive CEO Pay

To: Rep. Owens, Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee

From: A verified voter in West Jordan, UT

November 3

Pass SB 2818, the Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act of 2025. When a corporation pays its CEO more than 50 times what its median worker earns, that gap is a policy choice, and tax law should reflect it. The current tax code has no mechanism to discourage runaway executive compensation. SB 2818 changes that by tying corporate tax rates to pay ratios, giving companies a direct financial incentive to close the gap. That is a straightforward, market-based approach to a problem that has grown for decades.
