Want to save? Cancel the parade!

To: Sen. Grassley, Sen. Ernst, Rep. Miller-Meeks

Twin celebrations of U.S. President Donald Trump's birthday and the Army's 250th anniversary will include as many as 25 tanks rolling through Washington in a celebration that will cost $25 million to $45 million, U.S. officials told Reuters on Wednesday. Why would we want to spend this money while "saving" smaller amounts on life saving research? Why should we be cutting entire departments that save lives and protect citizens be only to spend the money on some parade because it happens to be the big boy's birthday? The parade is a waste. Like all the "savings" you think we'll get from cutting medicare benefits. Sick people cost money, but sick people without healthcare benefits cost the government even more. The research is there. I'll wait will you go read it. Just figure it out before you decide to allow this parade and before you decide to pass the budget in its current state.
