Invoke the 25th Amendment Now

To: Rep. Harris, Sen. Tillis, Sen. Budd

From: A verified voter in Laurinburg, NC

August 16

Congress needs to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove the President from office. The constitutional mechanism exists precisely for this moment, and waiting is a choice with consequences. Every day without action is a day the powers and duties of the presidency remain in the wrong hands. Section 4 of the 25th Amendment gives the Vice President and a majority of cabinet officers the authority to transmit a written declaration to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House that the President is unable to discharge the duties of office. Congress then has a defined role to play. Use it. The American people deserve a functioning executive branch, and you have both the power and the obligation to make that happen.
