Holding Corrupt Judges Accountable; Impeach Clarence Thomas
To: Rep. Huffman
From: A constituent in Eureka, CA
August 25
I have been reading the Existentialist Republic's argument for impeachment articles against Clarence Thomas and any other justice who is so openly corrupt, and must say I agree with the premise of keeping this corruption in the public eye whether or not we "have the votes". This is what the Republicans did with of pointless impeachment efforts all through the Biden, years, and prior. In in their case, of course, there was no "there" there. In our case, there is case after case of clear violation of accepted ethical standards. I know AOC has brought this up once and think we should/could make the effort again and open the investigations which it would allow so that folks like Thomas are ON NOTICE that we will NOT continue to put up with their self dealing and corruption. We have to start somewhere. Well, we kind of have to start everywhere, if we ever hope to survive as a functional democracy. And holding this wildly partisan court to account has to be part of the effort. Christopher Armitage of said ER has draft articles available for download for just this purpose. It would create a public record of wrongdoing and perhaps even open up the possibility of state actions going forward. Thank you for considering this.
