I am writing to express my strong opposition to Arizona H.B. 2062, a bill that I believe is harmful, discriminatory, and a distraction from the pressing issues that need your attention as a representative of our state H.B. 2062 unfairly targets transgender, intersex, and gender-nonconforming individuals under the guise of regulation. This legislation promotes harmful profiling practices that would endanger not only transgender and intersex individuals but also cisgender women who do not conform to traditional notions of femininity. This is an attempt to erase transgender and intersex people, who have existed throughout human history and contribute richly to our communities. Rather than legislating discrimination and hate, I urge you to focus on issues that truly matter to Arizonans, such as education, healthcare, economic development, addressing the ongoing water crisis, and so much more. Singling out marginalized groups for persecution under this bill does nothing to improve our state’s future - it only sows division and harm. Please stand on the right side of history and oppose H.B. 2062. I trust that you will represent the values of equality, fairness, and dignity of all people. Thank you for your time and consideration.
