Congress must enact durable environmental protections over private interests

To: Sen. Ernst, Sen. Grassley, Rep. Miller-Meeks

From: A verified voter in Bettendorf, IA

April 15

Congress must uphold its constitutional authority to legislate on environmental protections and prevent executive overreach that threatens public health and natural resources. The proposed "sunset" policy for federal rules would jeopardize critical safeguards without proper oversight. We urge legislators to defend environmental regulations that shield communities from pollution, preserve natural habitats, and address climate change. Protecting our environment should take precedence over narrow private interests and short-term profits. Congress has a responsibility to enact durable laws for the wellbeing of all Americans and future generations.
