President Trump's treatment of our closest allies has caused so much damage. Because of this, our allies no longer trust us and are finding new, more reliable partnerships. Canada is now making trade deals with China and other countries, which seem more dependable than the US under a Trump presidency. Trump has the audacity to be angry that the allies he has treated so poorly are turning away from us. Trump has threatened to implement a 100% tariff on Canada as retaliation. Tariffs were never about national security, but this is clearly retaliation. Retaliation against our neighbor and ally! Congress must act and stop Trumps illegal use of tariffs. We the American people are the ones suffering from his temper tantrums and his inability to play nice with our longstanding friends. It is time for Congress to quit giving up their power and stand up to the President. It's time for Congress to remember that you work for the American people, not the White House.
