Today is a day of reflection honoring all the victims of 9/11.
I remember the day as if it was yesterday but it feels like a very long time ago. We were a united nation 25 years ago. We respected each other as Americans and our differences. It is sad to reflect on what we have become. It is disrespectful to those victims.
Our leaders have divided us for personal political gain and profit. There is still so much more we agree than disagree on. The recent statement made a Trump’s political rally stating Democrats hate America is deplorable. The cheering from the audience is heartbreaking.
We are destroying ourselves from within.
We need principled leadership to reject the politics of today. That is your job. It is the responsibility of each American to reject our political leaders that divide and attack our fellow Americans no matter who they are. It is never acceptable. Restore our respect for each other as fellow Americans. Republican, Democrat, Independent, black or white, Catholic or Muslim.
United.
We all have the power.
