End Operation Epic Fury — Vote to Stop This Unauthorized War

To: Rep. McDowell

From: A verified voter in Mocksville, NC

May 11

The 60-day War Powers clock for Operation Epic Fury expired on May 1, 2026, and Congress has done nothing to stop it. Trump's response was a letter claiming hostilities had "effectively ended" due to a ceasefire — a transparent attempt to run out the clock without ever seeking the congressional authorization the law requires. That is not compliance. That is evasion. Congress has the power to declare war. The War Powers Resolution exists precisely to prevent presidents from waging unauthorized military campaigns through delay tactics and legal wordplay. H.Con.Res. 38 failed by seven votes. H.Con.Res. 40 failed by one. The margin is razor-thin, and the constitutional principle at stake could not be clearer. Vote to end this illegal, unauthorized military action and force the administration to come to Congress for proper authorization — or bring the troops home. Your vote on this will be remembered this fall.
