I am both appalled and not in the least surprised to see which of my Senators and Representatives in the US Congress voted against a measure to provide additional emergency funding for the response to Hurricane Helene. I require an explanation as to why. These are not issues that are up for a debate on the politics of the Capital, but of utmost importance to the very lives of your constituents. As a loyal defender of the Republic, it is deplorable to me that political games would be played with a bill that would have real-time impact of those citizens you yourself are tasked with serving. This will be remembered and addressed in your upcoming election effort, regardless of the office your are pursuing. The stain on what used to be my party will last a generation, and I do not know how you will wash yourself of it. I will be there to ensure you cannot.
