Uphold rule of law: Return Kilmar Abrego Garcia promptly

To: Sen. Crapo, Sen. Risch, Rep. Simpson

From: A constituent in Rexburg, ID

April 14

The president of El Salvador's refusal to return Mr. Kilmar Abrego Garcia violates a Supreme Court order to facilitate his return to the United States. Defying the highest court in the land sets a dangerous precedent of ignoring the rule of law. We cannot allow the Trump administration's actions to undermine our nation's system of checks and balances. It is imperative that Congress take steps to uphold the authority of the Supreme Court and ensure the administration complies with its ruling by taking all necessary measures to secure Mr. Garcia's prompt return. Inaction would erode constitutional principles and weaken our democracy. I urge you to use your office to compel the executive branch to respect the judiciary and return Mr. Garcia without further delay, demonstrating that no branch is above the law.
