i am writing to you today to discuss the healthcare.gov website and funding it. Both my husband and i have stable good paying jobs that do not provide health insurance. we have been using the aca for years for affordable and reliable healthcare, i have actually been surprisingly pleased with how easy it has been.
But since the government did not approve funding for it, we have been left with difficult choices. our aca prices have skyrocketed to the point its no longer a long term option, and private insurance has taken this opportunity to raise their prices as well. i have a "preexisting condition" that private refuses to cover me for. my husband has been on the phone 10 times since November trying to get this sorted and trying to make sure i have the coverage i need. private was not able to do that for us. "preexisting conditions", aka the main reason people need health insurance in the first place, used to be a huge political talking point. to the point whole presidential campaigns were run on it. It is no longer an issue. i dont understand how you can justify dragging a system back to where it was when it was worse.
i had contacted your office about this back in December, and i got an email back telling me you were doing all you could to fight the "democratic scam" that was the aca. i find that insulting when i contacted you begging you to keep it. it is not a scam, it is our health and our lives. we are on the edge of a recession and people can barely pay the bills as it is, the solution is not to make it worse for our average voters. Now is not the time. please pass the new aca funding that is coming to the senate. our lives are not partisan ideals.
thank you.
