I am writing to express my support for H.R. 6130 / S. 3267, the Alzheimer’s Screening and Prevention Act, and to ask that you support and cosponsor this important legislation.
Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias affect millions of families across the country, and early detection can make a meaningful difference. When people know what they are facing earlier, they have more time to work with their doctors, consider treatment options, plan for the future, participate in clinical trials, and make informed decisions with their families.
New screening tools, including blood-based tests, are making earlier detection more practical than it has been in the past. Medicare policy should keep pace with these advances so that seniors are not denied access simply because coverage rules have not caught up with medical progress.
This bill represents a sensible step toward improving preventive care, supporting patients and caregivers, and giving families more time to respond to a difficult diagnosis. Alzheimer’s is not only a medical issue; it is also a family, economic, and public health issue. Expanding access to early screening is a reasonable and compassionate way to help address it.
Please support H.R. 6130 / S. 3267, the Alzheimer’s Screening and Prevention Act. I appreciate your attention to this issue and your service to our state.
Sincerely,
