An Open Letter

To: Rep. Finstad

From: A constituent in Owatonna, MN

January 31

This week the government shutdown was temporarily avoided once again by separating funding for ICE and CBP from other types of funding. In light of what is happening in our state, not only in the Twin Cities, but everywhere in Minnesota, it should be very obvious that there is already too much money given to immigration enforcement. Innocent people are being hurt and two people have died at the hands of escalation from federal officers. I also hear that these operations are funded until 2029. Enough is enough! Immigration enforcement needs to go back to what was promised. Targeted operations against the worst of the worst! There is already enough money for that if the door to door operations stop and if picking up people who overstayed visas by a few months stops. Please vote against more funding for immigration enforcement and start standing up for our immigrant population.
