Justice for Renee Nicole Good and State Action to Protect Our Communities
To: Gov. Polis
From: A constituent in Aurora, CO
January 8
I am outraged that the ICE officer who killed Renee Nicole Good has not been arrested. Anyone who has watched the video can see that this was not a tragic accident—it appears to be an unjustified killing. Justice delayed is justice denied.
No one should be above the law, especially armed officers operating within our state. When federal agents act without accountability, it endangers everyone who lives here. As Governor, you have a responsibility to protect residents and ensure that no law enforcement agency operates beyond the reach of justice.
I urge you to use the full authority of your office to demand accountability, support an independent investigation, and cooperate with state and local officials to ensure this case is handled transparently and fairly. States should not be forced to tolerate federal agencies operating in ways that undermine public safety and civil rights.
Please stand up for us and for our neighbors. We need leadership that makes clear that abuses of power will not be ignored and that every life matters.
