Resume Agent Orange cleanup to prevent environmental catastrophe

The Trump administration's abrupt halt to funding for the Agent Orange cleanup at the Bien Hoa air base puts hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese civilians at grave risk of dioxin poisoning. With the rainy season fast approaching, contaminated soil could flood into nearby communities and waterways, poisoning food supplies and leaving a catastrophic environmental and public health crisis in its wake. This project is critical for repairing relations with a key strategic partner and underpins our extraordinary cooperation on issues from trade to locating remains of missing U.S. soldiers. Resuming funding immediately is imperative to avert potential loss of life and upheaval that would undermine years of progress. The consequences of inaction are dire - the administration must reinstate this program to uphold America's commitment and moral obligation to address the toxic legacy left behind by Agent Orange.
