Xenophobia has no place in my America
To: Sen. Kelly, Sen. Sinema
From: A constituent in Flagstaff, AZ
July 18, 2024
I am a constituent in 86005. There are terrifying times living in AZ and in our country. And the enemy is us! I watched yesterday as at the RNC participants were chanting “Mass deportation now!” As a lesbian citizen of this country, I am frightened that camps will be built and those of us who are "other" will be rounded up too. I just want to be really clear: this xenophobic behavior is appalling. Mass deportations of 11 million undocumented Americans, which I know is a top priority for Donald Trump, is not only cruel and impracticable but would absolutely ravage our economy. Has the Senator called out this terrible Project 2025 policy and promised to fight it? America needs a compassionate, orderly approach to immigration reform—not racism and dogwhistles about the Great Replacement Theory. We need you to speak out about this now more than ever. Lives will depend on this election. Thank you.
