This letter addresses Gov. Polis, Sen. Roberts and Rep. McCluskie. I am writing to you as an ordinary citizen. I am writing with encouragement to do the right thing. Not many days go by without me seeing footage of how Chicago is resisting federal corruption. It is time to join them by making it illegal for ICE to operate around our court buildings. I believe it is also time to soft secede the federal union until this nonsense ends. I work as a medicaid licensed professional counselor (LPC). In short, I'm a therapist. I believe we are on the brink of watching an American genocide in the modern age. You see, not only am I a therapist, I am also a Ukrainiann American. My grandparents survived the Holodomor, also known as the terror famine. All the food was artificially rounded up by the Soviets and stolen from the Ukrainian people so they died by starvation. The death count was approximately 5-7 million. It seems a little too familiar of a tactic to me to get rid of the "undesirables" of America. Even the elites were targeted by the Holodomor. Too many people reference Nazi Germany. I see things from the Soviets snd Nazis being the daughter of a Ukranian and a German. I can promise you, the federal government is behaving much more like the Soviets. Your status or obedience to them will never protect you enough. It has already begun, Stalin's Great Purge. What will follow will be genocide of American people. Just like the Holodomor, not all genocide requires active hands on murder. I do not want my taxes going towards such things. We need to shore up the tax money paid by Coloradoans for Coloradoans. I will not see the people I help with mental health starve or lose access to their health care. It is horrifying what we must live through. But this is our lot and we must accept it with grim faced determination. In whatever way is possible, please begin a soft secession and protect our immigrants from ICE.
