Concern Regarding U.S. Action in Venezuela

To: Sen. Alsobrooks, Sen. Van Hollen, Rep. Mfume

From: A constituent in Baltimore, MD

January 4

I am writing as a constituent to express serious concern about the current direction of the U.S.'s blatantly unlawful action toward Venezuela. The checks and balances instilled into every man, woman, and child in the U.S. are being disregarded and I urge you to resist decisions that could further destabilize Venezuela or draw the United States into unnecessary conflict. If the country and it's leadership are a genuine concern, any U.S. involvement should be transparent, lawful, and subject to congressional oversight. Please use your position to advocate for policies that reduce harm to civilians, uphold international norms, and avoid escalation that could have long-term consequences for both Venezuela and the United States. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I would appreciate knowing your position and any actions you are taking in response.
